|It stands directly across the street from the Navy Yard Metro Rail Station, the US Navy Yard complex, the Southeast Federal Center and just one block from Nationals Park, the new home of the Washington Nationals. The building has excellent access to I-295 and I-395 and is minutes from downtown Washington. It is also served by a Shuttle to the Eastern Market Metro Station. The main streets that define the neighborhood are South Capitol Street one block to the west, M Street as the primary thoroughfare and 8th Street to the east. The 8th Street corridor is bound at one end by the Navy Yard and at the opposite end by the Eastern Market Metro Station. This commercial corridor, three blocks in length, contains convenience and hardware stores, and various restaurant establishments serving the Capitol Hill community. Eighth Street is a residential and pedestrian scaled street only a 15 to 20 minute walk from the building. The M Street corridor shows real promise to become a grand avenue anchored by the Navy Yard and SEFC situated on the south face and a mixture of commercial and residential to the north.
